Her fans today number in the millions and since the advent of motion pictures, her novels have been turned into film at an almost regular pace. Although only six novels were published, those few works have become the model for true romance stories since the early 1800's. Her influence is so great that even Google celebrated her 235th birthday...Not to mention, that the first Jane Austen Festival in Bath was held in September 2000 over the course of a weekend with events taking place at the Jane Austen Centre in Gay Street.
